The Leeds Castle Fireworks Spectacular, Kent – 5thand 6thNovember 2011
The renowned firework display at Leeds Castle this year is inspired by space! As if this almighty firework display isn’t enough, there will also be an open air children’s film screening. Come for the evening performance or arrive early to enjoy the afternoon entertainment. Unfortunately, the castle itself is closed to the public but one can still admire its grounds. Possibly the most exciting thing about this event is the bidding war it has caused on eBay with people competing to buy the pleasure of launching the fireworks. The highest bidder will be the one who get to shout ‘FIRE!’ allowing the display to commence. If you feel like making this Bonfire night extra special, VIP Dining Packages are also available for groups of 10. All tickets must be pre-booked.
The Lord Mayor’s Show and Firework Display, London – 12thNovember 2011
If you’re busy over the weekend of the 5th, then fear not. The Lord Mayor’s Show and Firework Display takes place the week after Bonfire Night, offering a second chance to anyone who missed out! This is no ordinary firework display as it welcomes into office the new Lord Mayor of the City of London - this year, it's the turn of the 684th Mayor! It is three-mile-long parade involving carriages, marching bands and floats featuring people from a huge variety of London communities – including steel bands and the Paraiso School of Samba! The procession begins at Mansion House in the morning and then makes its way through the historic streets of the Square Mile, via the wonderful St Paul's Cathedral. This is where the Lord Mayor will receive a blessing followed by a visit to the Royal Courts of Justice where he swears his allegiance to the Sovereign. The return procession starts, arriving back at Mansion House, allowing the fireworks display to commence in the early evening from a barge moored between Waterloo and Blackfriars bridges.
